GRAND RAPIDS, MI, September 7, 2003 –– Gordon Food Service (GFS) announced today that the acquisition of Smart & Final’s Florida operations has been completed.

Under the terms of the agreement, GFS purchased Smart & Final’s Florida foodservice direct delivery business, Henry Lee, and nine Smart & Final stores. With the close of the sale, Henry Lee will now be called Gordon Food Service – Henry Lee Division. The Smart & Final store names remain unchanged at this time.

Like Gordon Food Service, Henry Lee has a long history in the foodservice distribution business. Bruce Samples, President of Henry Lee, says, “We are very excited about being part of the GFS team.
