GFS Marketplace provides our Sales Associates with a variety of training opportunities, including: a thorough orientation that introduces them to the GFS Cornerstone Values, our culture, history, safety expectations, responsibilities of their job, policies, and the many benefits that GFS Marketplace offers. Our Sales Associates also enter an 8-module on-the-job training program where they learn how to perform any front or back-of-the-store duties. This cross-training strategy allows them to service the store and our customers with the highest level of efficiency and confidence. In addition to training, we also offer development opportunities for Sales Associates who are interested in store leadership positions. Our succession plan will prepare an individual with exposure to the essential responsibilities for a Shift Leader or Assistant Manager role. Providing this opportunity to develop future leaders is of key importance to our successful growth as an organization. Orientation and Training Furthermore, we provide each new member of our management team with a premier training program. We utilize a blended approach to our management training including on-the-job knowledge and skill building, personal one-on-one attention, self-paced training modules, e-learning opportunities, and an array of instructor-led courses. We believe that providing a variety of training methods will capitalize on anyone’s learning needs and maximize their ability to contribute with confidence in their new role with GFS Marketplace. Development Opportunities In order to accomplish this, our Leadership Development program provides individuals with a customized development plan to meet their specific needs. In addition, we have other opportunities to provide those who aspire to grow with GFS Marketplace with the experience, exposure, tools, and resources to transition into potential leadership roles. At GFS Marketplace we understand that it is necessary to prepare someone with the appropriate tools and resources to succeed and help us grow our business. As a result, we provide new managers the opportunity to experience our GFS Marketplace headquarters and network with key stakeholders in the business during orientation.
With over 130 stores and growing every year, there are endless opportunities at GFS Marketplace. Whether your preference is working in the field in a store, district, or area-level leadership position, or focusing your expertise in a field support or Headquarters role, our goal is to develop our internal managers to take on our future leadership positions.
