When I started as a Sales Associate at the age of 16, I probably wasn't the "ideal" employee at the time! But I matured and found out exactly what I wanted to do—which was to interact with our customers.
In 2005 I was promoted to an Assistant Manager position. Over the three years that I was in this position, I had the great opportunity to help struggling stores improve their performance while at the same time learning what I needed to know in order to get to where I am today.
In 2008 I was given the promotion to Store Manager here in Nashville, Tennessee. Already I have enjoyed making a difference here at GFS Marketplace. I love working with our employees, helping them to achieve their dreams for success.
Wowing our customers with the service we offer, working side by side with the team, training, coaching, and mentoring—what a great opportunity to serve here.
Someday I hope to demonstrate enough success that they may hire me to be a District Manager or a Training Manager.
No matter what, my career is here with GFS Marketplace, and I'm thankful to be part of an amazing culture and organization as Gordon Food Service.
