My career at GFS Marketplace began as a part-time Sales Associate while finishing high school. From there I have had the privilege of holding many different roles for Gordon Food Service. These roles include Store Operations Manager, Store Assistant Manager, Sales Representative, Regional Sales & Marketing Manager, Regional Retail Services Manager, Regional Manager, and my current role of Area Manager.
What I like most about my career with Gordon Food Service has been the ability to work with the many dedicated, value-oriented team members at Gordon Food Service. We seem to attract the best people around which has been the backbone of our success through the years. My goal has always been to try my best to be a good coach, mentor, and advisor to my team members. I don't feel I need to tell them what to do, but rather be there to support and encourage their efforts.
I have always appreciated the way the Gordon family runs the business. The business acumen, customer focus, family values and cost-effective approach they have lends to a certain kind of security for employees and customers.
I believe all employees take it seriously that we represent not only our great company, but the Gordon family as well. I hope to bring to life the culture of our company through my actions each day.
To retire from Gordon Food Service as the only company I have worked for in my career is my ultimate goal. While I aspire to earn the chance to lead in other roles, the title is insignificant to me. As long as I am challenged, growing as a person, and focused on doing my job well, I know the opportunities will present themselves as we grow as an organization.
