Gordon Food Service Announces Appointment of Two New Directors to the Company’s Board of Directors

Gordon Food Service today announced it has appointed two new Directors to the Company’s Board of Directors. Frank Geier, current President of Gordon Food Service Canada, will be joining the Board effective January 1, 2014, and Chris Ordway, former Senior Director and General Manager of North American Consumer Products at Motorola, will be joining the Board effective immediately.

Frank Geier has served as President of GFS Canada since 2002 and has guided the successful growth of the Company’s Canadian business. As Geier moves on to the Gordon Food Service Board, he will transition out of his role as President of GFS Canada. Geier brings to the Board 28 years of foodservice experience and a focus on high levels of customer service and producing results. He is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology and resides in Grand Rapids, MI with his wife and two daughters.

Chris Ordway’s business experience includes leadership positions at Motorola, Union Pump Company and Kellogg’s. Ordway has also been deeply involved in Christian work in Rwanda. He is from western Michigan, is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and resides with his wife and three daughters in Chicago, IL.

Commenting on their appointment, Board Chairman Dan Gordon said, “We are very pleased to add the talent and industry knowledge of these two respected executives to our Board. We are looking forward to their contributions in helping our family guide Gordon Food Service into the future.”

In addition to Mr. Geier and Mr. Ordway, the Company’s Board of Directors consists of Dan Gordon, Chairman; Jim Gordon, CEO; John Gordon Jr., Secretary and Treasurer; David Gray, former President of Sara Lee Bakery Company; Joseph White, President Emeritus of the University of Illinois, Tracy Schmidt, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, CNL Financial Group. John Gordon Sr. also serves as Director Emeritus.
