Gordon Food Service Completes Distribution Facility in Pottsville, Pennsylvania

Gordon Food Service announced the startup of a 150,000 square foot distribution center in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. The distribution center, located in portions of Cass and Foster Townships, is now shipping product and employs 50 full-time employees.

“This new facility broadens our ability to service the needs of our multi-unit customers and provide capacity to support growth throughout the entire East Coast of the United States,” said Randy Plekker, Gordon Food Service Executive Vice President.

The Pottsville facility is the company’s tenth and eastern-most distribution center in the United States. Currently, Gordon Food Service has distribution centers in Grand Rapids (2) and Brighton (2), Michigan; Springfield, Ohio; Shepherdsville, Kentucky; Greenville, South Carolina; and Ocala and Miami, Florida. In addition, a distribution center in Kenosha, Wisconsin is currently under construction.
