Fresh Fish

Our broad offering includes Atlantic farm-raised salmon, Chilean sea bass, and Florida grouper, as well as other fresh seasonal catches. Through our innovative packaging, the fish is well-chilled without being frozen or in direct contact with ice or water, to keep it truly fresh and of the highest quality.

Fish Steaks

Your health-conscious customers may choose the nutrition benefits of fish over other proteins. Ready your menu with fish steaks and grilled fillets.

Many of our ocean fish are hook-and-line caught, and frozen at sea to seal in the freshness and quality of the catch. A sample of our offerings include:

Fish Loins, Portions and Fillets

With menu and preparation versatility, you can select from a large selection of sizes, grades and cuts of unbreaded fish: Cape capensis, cod, flounder, haddock, pollock, grouper, lake perch, orange roughy, sea bass, snapper, rock sole, whiting, ocean perch, walleye, zander, catfish, swai, tilapia, rainbow trout and more.

Value-Added Fish and Seafood

We offer a large selection of fish that is breaded, battered or crusted and ready to bake, broil, or fry. Choose from catfish, cod, haddock, grouper, halibut, hoki, perch, pollock, redfish, tilapia, whiting, trout, shrimp and more.

Quality Shellfish

Our shellfish offering includes North Atlantic live lobsters which are shipped directly from the supplier and guaranteed to arrive alive. We also offer frozen lobster tails, crab legs, scallops, mussels, clams, oysters, shrimp, and other specialty seafoods like crab meat, crab cakes, lobster meat, imitation crab meat, squid and calamari, herring, crawfish, alligator and frog legs.

Shrimp

Grill, bake, broil, or deep-fry your shrimp for maximum versatility on your menu. Satisfy a myriad of customers with a broad range of shrimp options.

We offer a large assortment of raw and cooked shrimp in a variety of sizes and packages. Selection includes:

  • Raw tiger and white shrimp: shell- and tail-on, shell-on, shell-on peeled and deveined with tail-on, shell-off peeled and deveined with tail on or off, shell-off peeled and undeveined with tail-off
  • Cooked tiger and white shrimp: shell-on peeled and deveined, shell-off peeled and deveined with tail on or off
  • Breaded or battered: beer battered with tail on or off, round or fan-tail tempura battered, round or fan-tail coconut breaded, round or fan-tail breaded, buffalo breaded, mini breaded, oriental breaded, Dipt 'n' Dusted and popcorn shrimp
  • Specialty: shrimp scampi, shrimp skewers, imitation breaded and more

Healthy oceans and abundant fish and shellfish populations are not simply the first step in our seafood supply chain--they are the foundation of our entire seafood program. Gordon Food Service is committed to working with seafood suppliers who practice responsible, sustainable, science-based fishing practices. Our suppliers know their fish. Our suppliers know where and how each species is caught, how their fisheries are managed, and are committed to maintaining abundant fish stocks. They do this by closely monitoring the fish stocks and analyzing information about their catch, and will respond to scientific data by adjusting harvest levels quickly and effectively. We are committed to steady deliveries of high-quality products that meet the specifications of our customers, and satisfy their consumers. Working with responsible, science-based fisheries generates more fish over time and puts more healthy seafood on the plate year after year. It’s good business. It’s good for the ocean, and it’s good for the planet.

Gordon Food Service has earned Chain of Custody Certification from the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC). These organizations set environmental standards for seafood based on the sustainability of fish stocks, minimal impact on the ecosystem, and responsible fisheries management. The Chain of Custody Standard ensures traceability of seafood back to a certified source. This allows our customers to be confident they are procuring and marketing seafood on their menus that meet expectations established by MSC for wild caught seafood and ASC for farmed seafood.

In addition to MSC and ASC offerings, Gordon Food Service also offers items with other notable sustainability endorsements such as Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP), Responsible Fisheries Management (RFM), and U.S. Domestic offerings managed under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
